The camera in your phone can produce beautiful and useful pictures to include in your website, promotions, reports and social media postings, but like with good writing, good pictures require clear thinking and editing. Dennis Dimick, for more than three decades a photo editor at National Geographic (and a UW-Madison grad), will explain how he approaches photographing with his phone. He will show a selection of his phone pictures, using them as examples of how he anticipates action, uses light and composes compositions. He will also discuss tools he uses to crop and tone images, with a focus on Snapseed, a free photo editing app available for both iOS and Android. His tips and approaches also apply to those of you who use “regular” cameras, as he certainly does. Please bring questions and be ready for discussion!
This event is open to the public and will take place in the H.F. DeLuca Forum at the Discovery Building.
