Food Preservation: Science in Action
Monday10/196:30 pm - 8:00 pm
Properly canned food can be stored at room temperature for several years, but improperly canned meat or green beans can be a recipe for disaster. (Have you heard of botulism? Spoiler alert, it can cause death!)
Join Nancy Coffey, Extension Eau Claire County emeritus staff and food preservation judge, to learn the principles of safe food preservation and the importance of research-based recipe sources. Plus, watch a food preservation demonstration.
Youth and adults are encouraged to attend this event at the Eau Claire Extension Office. (This would be especially helpful if you are enrolled in the Food Preservation project.) Call 715-497-9309 by October 10 to register.
