Maximize Immune System Effectiveness Through Music
Friday10/1811:00 am - 12:30 pm
In this informative session from Dr. Dale Taylor, UWEC Professor Emeritus, learn about the location, content and functions of this vitally important human system, the immune system, its relationship to structures in the central nervous system and ways that it is influenced by the endocrine system. Specific hormones that control immune system operations will be described in terms of their normal roles in helping this system protect the human body from disease. Hear the results of research showing the effects of music on relevant neural structures along with data showing how music affects the production, distribution and effectiveness of certain hormones and enhances the ability of the immune system to provide protection from disease especially during periods of stress. Plus, we’ll share recommendations regarding ways to use music to maximize immune system effectiveness.
