Third Annual Milton Public Library Pumpkin Chunkin
Saturday10/1712:00 pm - 2:00 pm
The Milton Public Library is holding its third annual Pumpkin Chunkin, a family-friendly SPARK event that encourages the E and M in STEAM.
The SPARK is the library’s makerspace, and we’re taking our hands-on creating outside the library, in more ways than one. Participants are encouraged to build their own catapults at home, with family and friends.
There are some rules, which can be found at the event website. No explosives, no air-pressured devices and no chemicals. We’re not working with a large field, so we have to keep those pumpkins contained!
There are two catapult categories: small (8 cubic feet) and large (64 cubic feet). Each catapult team will be given three pumpkins to try and launch a 2-3 lb pumpkin the farthest.
The winning team from each category will receive the much sought-after pumpkin trophy.
