Our presenter registration form is for students, researchers, outreachers, sponsors, and other festival partners signing up to share their science through hands-on engagement, open houses, tours, science shows, and more during the 2025 Wisconsin Science Festival. General volunteering opportunities are available below.

Discovery Volunteers

Lend a hand as a volunteer at our upcoming hands-on expo events. Account creation and approval required prior to registering for volunteer shifts:

• 10/16/25 – Science on the Square (Downtown Madison): 4:30-7:00pm & 6:45-9:15pm
• 10/22/25 – Field Trip Expo (Discovery Building): 9:00-11:30am & 11:15-1:45pm

Who can volunteer?

Anyone! Science expert or not, new volunteers are always welcome!

• High school and college students (must be at least 16 years of age)
• Adults
• Families
• Corporate and Community Groups

Build a team! Volunteering can be more fun with a friend – let us know if you are volunteering as a group and we will do our best to ensure you can work together. Group opportunities are excellent team building experiences that help you connect with the community.

What do volunteers do at the festival?

You can choose how you want to engage. Options include:

• Welcoming visitors
• Answering questions
• Running programs and experiments
• Assisting with volunteer management
• Prepping for the festival
• and more!

If you are a new volunteer, you will need to create a volunteer profile using our volunteer management tool called CERVIS. While our official sign-up form is not yet open, you are welcome to fill out our volunteer interest form to be notified when registration becomes available.

Presenters and science communicators – looking to share your science?

Expo registration information will be announced Summer 2025.

If you are looking for ways to share your science through hands-on engagement with the community and K-12 groups, please fill out the PRESENTER form! This year we will have three opportunities to engage directly with school groups, families, and festival attendees of all ages and interests!

• DATE TBD, 9:30am-1:00pm – Field Trip Expo in the Discovery Building
• Thursday, October 16th, 5:00-9:00pm – Science on the Square (downtown Madison)
• DATE TBD, 10:00am-1:00pm – Community Expo in the Discovery Building
