Playing with Blue

Playing with Blue

Friday 10/18/24
1:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Playing with Blue is Part Two of Galaudet Gallery’s Series called Color. This time we look into the interaction of Blue with other colors like white and red or green and how placement of colors can change how those colors look. Playing with Blue is based on science!

The science behind why colors change when placed near other colors is called simultaneous contrast. This phenomenon occurs when the perception of colors is influenced by the colors adjacent to them, causing them to appear more or less saturated or bright. Simultaneous contrast can be observed with different hues or luminosities.

Visit us during the Wisconsin Science Festival for fun activities that play with Blue and other colors!
